GatherUP begins
A platform for volunteers came before I became a volunteer myself.
GatherUP began as an attempt to make volunteering easier to enter, organize and understand. Building it pushed me closer to the communities it was meant to serve. Only afterward did I begin volunteering myself — a change that made the work less abstract and more responsible.
